A Career at Repton Medical

Repton Medical is a innovative company that are always on the look out for future potential candidates to join their team, as part of our succession and investment for the future with the offer of a University Industrial Placements as well as an Apprenticeship Programme. Training is provided and encouraged for people to achieve qualifications that strike the balance between work, study and training. We also offer business work experience to schools and colleges.

Team working is vitally important to our business as this leads to motivated and loyal workers being trained in the right way. We offer development opportunities and are working towards our Investors in People accreditation.

The University Industrial Placement Scheme offers the student the opportunity to spend a year in industry to learn vital skills that they will utilise back in their academic studies, whilst our Apprenticeship programme will be for a two year period giving the individual the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications and valuable training whilst getting “hands on” experience in the work place.

Richard Jukes – Apprentice

I began my apprenticeship at the age of 16, straight out of school working for Repton Medical Ltd. I have learnt various different jobs in the trade from, Marketing, Distribution, Sales Order Processing, Librarian and providing bespoke labels for the NHS Services. All of these different job roles included training from the colleagues that work in these different departments.

Throughout my apprenticeship I have been provided extra training from the NE Group, the course I have taken to help the company progress was the level 3 ITQ Course.  I am currently still working towards this grade but hopefully by the end of the year I should have this completed. There are always future opportunities within the company and this keeps me motivated and passionate about my role.

Talisa Gill – Undergraduate Placement Student

As part of my BA Hons International Business degree at Sheffield Hallam, I have to complete a one year work placement. I started my placement in September 2013 at Repton Medical in the field of Marketing. Since I have joined the company I have been welcomed into the company like any other member of staff and hold a high responsibility for the business. So far the variety I have had on this placement has been phenomenal.

My job role is very diverse at Repton Medical, as I cover all different sections of Marketing including internet marketing, direct marketing, email marketing and social media marketing. My current marketing projects involve assisting in the design and now managing the new corporate website, I design and distribute direct mailings and I manage all social media networks for the business. Although these are my main tasks within marketing, I have had the opportunity to work in other departments such as Distribution and Sales.

Alongside office tasks I also get the opportunity to work outside the office on sales rep meetings which has broadened my business knowledge and experience. This placement scheme has provided me with extra training as I have currently completed an “Internet Marketing” course and I also have weekly website training, which is a brand new skill for me. My placement at Repton Medical has definitely broadened my knowledge, which I will take back to university and it will also enhance my CV for future graduate employment.

After my placement year, I was asked to continue working in the marketing department one day a week whilst I completed my final year studies. This allowed me to continue developing marketing skills alongside my academic learning. I graduated university with a 2:1 and I accepted a graduate position here at Repton Medical to be the Assistant Marketing Manager from June 2015.
